1-32

32) These kittens along with many other mammals and birds are called endotherms. They have a body temperature that stays about the same no matter what the temperature of their environment is. An endotherm is an animal that can control its internal body temperature.

31) This spider in my backyard has a segmented body. A segmented body means it has different parts that are evenly divided and all different organs are distributed equally.

30) These veins are an example of transport proteins. Transport proteins diffuse different particles throughout an organism. In this case, these veins are transporting blood and oxygen throughout this kid's body.

29) Melissa Mooney is a human who along with others, falls under the Kingdom Anamalia.

28) Brown eyes is the dominant allele in my family. In Carissa's family the dominant allele is green. We have different genes and DNA.

27) Lactic acid fermentation is a process where sugars like as glucose, fructos, and sucrose are converted into cellular energy and lactic acid which is found in milk.

26) Nails have keratin which is a protein. They serve as structural units along with hair and wool.

25) This leaf is an example of a frond, a leaf with many divisions.

24) This is the ovary of the flower which is the female reproductive part that contains embryo seeds.

23) My arm's surface is entirely covered with closely-packed skin cells which is epithelial tissue.

22) Dominant vs. Recessive: Brown hair is the dominant allele in my family. In my cousin's family, blonde hair is the dominant allele in their family.

21) This picture I took is a tree in front of my house. This tree is considered an autotroph. It relies on photosynthesis to make it's own food.

20) The lemon cut across the middle is an example of radial symmetry. Radial symmetry is a form of symmetry, which means from all directions the lemon looks the mirror-like or the same.

19) This flower I picked from my garden in my backyard. It has pollen on top of the flower. Wind, water, or even bees or other insects help transport pollen to other plants.

18) Bread is an example of complex carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates are called polysaccharides.

17) This picture is an example of an amniotic egg (where organisms like birds and reptiles are able to have their babies on dry land with the egg to protect them).

16) This potato is an example of a long-day plant. It takes longer to flower than most plants.than it would normally receive from daylight in order to induce flowering.

15) Cantalope is a fruit that has carbohydrates, in this case sugars. It is a simple carbohydrate or monosaccharide.

14) This plant has a waxy covering to protect itself which is called the cuticle layer.

13) The peanuts in peanut butter contain many different proteins. It also has starch which is a type of carbohydrate.

12) This my kitten walking on my backyard. My cat and the grass are on two different levels of the food chain. My cat is a consumer and the grass is a producer.

11) Mushrooms are an example of what consists in the Kingdom Fungi.

10) Genetic variation within a population: There are about four different types of fish with all different genetics living in one population.

9) These tortoises have an external skeleton that protects their bodies. This is also called an exoskeleton.

8) This bug has a very hard outer layering to protect it's body. This is called an exoskeleton.

7) This nest is an example of ways that birds adapt to their environment.

6) These roots are examples of xylem which is a transport tissue that absorbs water, minerals, and nutrients from the soil.

5) The fungus that grows on this tree is an example of a lichen.

4) This leaf is an example of showing bilateral symmetry, from the middle both sides of the leaf look identical.

3) This ant is an ectotherm, this means it is cold-blooded where the take on the temperature of their surroundings.

2) This ant hole is made in order for the ants to prevent predation from predators higher in the food chain.

1) This an example of adaption of a plant because the flowers are leaning towards the sun which they need in order to survive.
